Luminor Apartments: A Modern Investment Done Right

Vision
TERPLAN Ltd., a comprehensive planning, implementation, and project management company, envisioned transforming an abandoned hotel into a prestigious residential development. Their goal was to create a collection of 25 luxury apartments in one of Budapest’s most desirable locations.
Nestled on Normafa Hill, the development was to enjoy panoramic city views and clean, fresh air. However, they knew that even a prime location would not be enough to truly captivate the most discerning buyers.
To stand out in the competitive Budapest property market, TERPLAN needed a signature feature. The answer was simple yet powerful – integrating modern fireplaces into the apartments as an element of warmth, sophistication, and lifestyle appeal.
Challange
Since the existing building had neither a chimney nor access to a gas line, they were looking for a modern burner that doesn’t required to vent out and offer comfortable operation with advanced technology matching the overall concept of the high end project.
Answer
Advanced burners with BEV® technology mastered by Planika Fires were specified to address the challenge.
“We always wanted the element of fire in our building, but we don’t have gas or chimneys here,” explains Zoltán Fekete, the developer behind the project. “At the same time, I was aware of Planika’s solution, which, in my opinion, redefines the bioethanol fireplace segment and makes an open fire available in a very comfortable way.”
While BEV® fireplaces with automatic and safe operation are still unfamiliar to many people, for Fekete, they were a proven choice. He knew that adding them to the project would bring an extra value to the apartments and in particular a real flame that:
– is intuitively controlled and might be integrate with ambient light of home automation,
– is an amazing décor and heating source at the same time,
– emits no smoke or toxics.
Result
Planika’s BEV fireplaces ranging from 1200mm to 2000mm long units were specified for 11 out of 25 apartments and served as an eye-catching and emotional element in marketing campaigns. Integrated primarily within TV wall configurations the authentic flame effect created a focal point that enhanced both the spatial composition and the overall living experience. This strategic approach led to early sales, demonstrating the power of sophisticated design in real estate.
Beyond their design advantages, Planika fireplaces were also valued for their technological convenience, simplifying both installation and permitting processes.
